Exhibitions or events in the northwest/Liverpool?

I take my godmun out for her Christmas/birthday present and we often see a show in London

But she'd rather jot travel so far this year so I'm going up

Is there anything good coming up this year; we have been to lectures at the art gallery connected to an exhibition (there was one about 1920-50s clothes that was amazing) & we missed on seeing some strictly cos of covid

But as I live far away I don't always know what's coming

Any suggestions?

How about the Boodles story at the Lady Lever in Port Sunlight?

Or Manchester International Festival in summer might have something that appeals?

KatyMac · 06/01/2023 23:23

She is tempted to move out for eurovision!

I'll have a look at Manchester, Thanks

The Palace Theatre in Manchester often has touring West End musicals. It’s got The Lion King, My Fair Lady and the King and I this year, to name a few. Birmingham Royal Ballet are performing Swan Lake at The Lowry in March.

AvocadoPlant · 07/01/2023 08:19

Have you looked at what’s coming up at The Liverpool Everyman? Usually has some very good plays rather than west end touring shows.

For the daytime, The Williamson Art Gallery is smaller than the Lady Lever, we only discovered it last summer and really enjoyed a trip there - free parking onsite.

Also, if she is interested, here are the Chinese New Year events coming up in Liverpool.

There will be quite a few things on in Mcr due to the new Factory opening (June). I booked a ticket to the Yayoi Kusama exhibition for July. The RHS at Bridgewater will likely have a few shows etc on, too, they have their own regular shuttle bus to/from town if you wanted to make a weekend of it.

KatyMac · 07/01/2023 18:29

Thanks guys - there is loads that look fab!!

I'll start looking but Swan Lake might be great and if I can add an exhibition the same weekend that would be fab

Hi @KatyMac, just reviving this thread in case you're still interested.

There's a Flower Fairies exhibition at the Lady Lever in Port Sunlight - it looks charming!
