Passport renewal time....

Anyone have any recent experience of how long it's taking to get a passport renewed right now?

We sent ours off 12th December and got them back a few days ago, which considering the postal strikes and xmas we were quite please with.

Also they kept us informed every step of the way which was useful.

I had to renew a lost passport in mid November and it took 12 days from online application to new passport arriving.

Took about 3 weeks for DD in October. All done online including the photo. Much easier than it used to be.

Same as the others - less than a month! Worth doing if you had a period without holidays rather than leaving to the last minute too just for peace of mind.

My sons renewal took from 4th December- 20th dec.

13 days for me in November

Renewed 23rd Dec and arrived yesterday

Thank you everyone. That gives me hope! Mine was received on Dec 30th (only 10 days to travel 70 miles, Royal Mail- tho I do support the strikes!).

Travel is Feb 15th 😳😊

Well, if you support the strikes you won't care whether you can travel or not.

The unions will have achieved their aims.

I posted my old passport on 21st December. My new one was printed yesterday.

Sent my child’s documents off on Christmas Eve and received the new passport yesterday. They are using a courier to deliver passports to our area.

Did you submit it online and post your old passport, or did you post a form? I did mine online on 22nd December, posted my old passport on 23rd, and had my new one on the 29th. I was amazed!

Mine took 3 weeks in December. The longest part of that was the 2 weeks it took Royal Mail to deliver my old passport to them. Once they finally got it, new passport was printed the following day and I received it by courier two days later.

Thanks everyone. They've just asked me to find and submit a long expired Australian passport as well, so this might not be a quick process 🙄

How did they know about your old Australian passport? Did you put it on the form?

Renewed online 18th December and new one received on 28th December.

Does anyone have any recent experience at the Corby Office? I've had to send mine off for renewal for a last minute work trip mid February as it only had 5 months on it at time of travel and I needed 6 annoyingly. Sent on 23rd Dec, but due to strikes and holidays arrived at Corby on 4th Jan, but still no update in the HM passport tracking system other than 'Send your documents'

Would be good to know anyone's recent experiences at this office as it seems to have been super quick for others, and I don't want my work to pay for expensive flights until I can be sure to get it back in time! Seems like once its actually put into the system its quite quick, but the time to do that can vary.

It's a renewal with name change (so just marriage cert to review)

Renewed online and sent my old one on Monday this week and received my new one on Thursday - couldn’t believe how quick it was!

Update, it took 5 working days from delivery on 4th Jan for my documents to be added to the system, but then it was really fast. Approved next day, printed day after and delivered 2 days later!
