Day out for 5 year old - beginning of February

Hi

It's my little boys birthday on 3rd February, he will be turning 5. Instead of a party I would like to take him out that day.

As with winter opening times, many main attraction places ie Longleat, Paultons Park, are only open at the weekends.

We are debating West Midlands Safari Park, but would like an indoor attraction back up in case of bad weather!

Any ideas? (or even places which are half inside, half outside)

Whereabouts are you? Would a big leisure pool work? There are some great ones around the country. We went to Alpamare Scarborough for a winter birthday with my 5 year old recently and it was fantastic.

We are South West. :)
