Does anyone know what this could be please? I've namechanged as i'm quite embarrassed by the state of my feet. I've had pain there for a few weeks but now a little lump has come up and it's quite painful to walk on. Thanks in advance

Its a verruca

Veryactivenymphomaniac · 04/01/2023 21:02

Yes, I'd agree!

emmathedilemma · 04/01/2023 21:02

it’s not a great photo but I’d guess it’s a verruca

Yes a verruca!

It’s a verruca

Yes it's a verruca and your foot just looks like a normal foot. It's a bizarre bit of social pressure to make women care so much about what their feet look like.

ShillyShallySherbet · 04/01/2023 21:04

Looks like a splinter to me.

Giraffy · 04/01/2023 21:04

Thank you! i googled verucas as I haven't had one since I was a child and I can't remember what it felt like.

You haven't seen the rest of my foot! But thank you for the reassurance

Almost certainly a verruca. Keep it covered to prevent spreading it. They can go away by themselves but I had to have mine frozen off at the GP. I’m not sure if there are creams you could try at home. I’d recommend popping into a pharmacy and asking about what you can buy to treat it. Good luck xx

I agree with everyone else. Use this to nuke it - less is more, use frequently, and make sure not to get it on any healthy skin as it hurts like fuck!

Can you still get them frozen off at the GP? I'm wondering if it's one of those things that's been cut as it's considered "cosmetic"...

My DC has a painful verucca but it's impossible to even get an appointment.

I paid to have a couple frozen off at a podiatrist as they were hurting when I walked and I couldn’t shift them with over the counter products.
the GP froze a wart off for me though, but only because it was right on the knuckle and the products kept making my skin split which was agony, and then I had to stop using them until it healed.

rachll · 04/01/2023 21:31

Thanks @emmathedilemma - I think I'll give the GP another go and then go down the podiatrist route.

Well after a very painful poke around with the tweezers i've managed to pull out a splinter! who knew it could cause so much pain! Going to keep my eye on it just in case it is a verruca but something short and black and splinter like came out. It's throbbing loads now..

It is still quite painful. I did have to really dig in though to get it out. There still seems to be a dot there but not sure if it's a blood blister type thing or something else. Going to keep my eye on it. Thank you for asking 😊
