Can't smell my right foot?

Sorry, odd title and a bit gross but, I used to be able to bring either foot to my nose, have always sat cross legged and could put either calf across the other thigh. Last week or so I can't. left leg is fine but the right has become prohibitively painful. Anyone got any idea why?

Blimey.

Rubyfw5 · 04/01/2023 17:55

The pain/tightness is in my thigh.

Age. Your body is slowly giving up.

Or maybe your right foot is smellier and your nose doesn't want to sniff it so it puts an order into the brain. The brain thinks its a good order and tells right foot to fuck off and leave the nose alone. Foot complies.

Age?

vodkaredbullgirl · 04/01/2023 17:57

Age is a factor, and why do you want to smell your feet 😆

harktheherold · 04/01/2023 17:57

I really don't think anyone on the internet can answer this for you.

Often age, as PP have said. The body is commonly not in perfect harmony in terms of flexibility and it is quite common for one side to be tighter than the other. Yoga is good for balancing this out.

I recommend putting your right foot under your partner’s nose to check the smelliness.

Sciatica most likely

unsync · 04/01/2023 18:03

Hip flexors.

FleasNavidad · 04/01/2023 18:04

Your leg has shrunk maybe? 🤣

TrentCrimm · 04/01/2023 18:06

Ebola.

NameIsBryceQuinlan · 04/01/2023 18:10

Probably your hip flexors and pelvis not your thigh. Go to yoga. My mum is nearly 60 and can do the splits because of yoga.

HitMeWithAHotNoteAndWatchMeBounce · 04/01/2023 18:11

So this is actually about loss of flexibility, not smelling your feet. 😳

What an odd thread title.

Why don’t you retitle the thread, and you might get some more useful replies.

Sciatica. The sciatic nerve runs from lower back through hips and buttocks and runs down each leg. Sciatica is inflammation of the nerve - sometimes caused by pressure from a bone overgrowth or herniated disc. The pain is usually down one side of the body. Cold or hot treatments can help, as can stretching exercises. Nerve pain blockers like Gabapentin can also help, but you’d need GP input for that.

pinneddownbytabbies · 04/01/2023 18:20

Could be tightness in the hamstring on that leg, or a hip issue as another pp says.
