Anyone had a new passport recently? How long did it take?

Child passport needs renewing to adult. Just wondered on wait times.

Recently got an adult renewal - only delay was with Royal Mail post times due to strikes to send my old passport back which took two weeks - once they received it, it was printed the next day and arrived two days later

I renewed my son's at end of Sept 2022 and had the new one around 15 October.

2 weeks. Really quick. (4 passports needed renewing).

3 weeks

Did it online in November. Submitted on Friday, arrived Wednesday.

Not done child ones, but done two adult ones and one was back within ten days, the other 2.5 weeks. Same household but hey were done separately, a week apart, and interestingly had to be sent to different offices, which might be a factor in the time difference!

Just to add when I rang the '10 weeks' they quote is from you making the initial application not when they receive the old passport

Less than two weeks and also involved a name change so had to send marriage certificate. That was late November

Renewed adult and child ones in November, took just under two weeks

Less than 10 working days here! Online, not fast tracked.

Renewed the DC's in November online. They took a week exactly from sending off the old ones, to receiving the new ones.

In December, about a fortnight.

Just did it 2 weeks ago, had them back in a week.

We've just renewed my husbands passport. It only took 1 week.

Just renewed DD’s and took a couple of weeks. All very straightforward now the photos & certifying them is all online. Also excellent communication, with updates when the old one had been received, when it was approved, posted etc. I was really impressed!

@Nanamuffin submitted on the Tuesday and new passport arrived on the Saturday!
