Disability buggy.

My grandson is on the waiting list for CAMHS. We are thinking autism/ADHD. Basically he cant cope when out. He throws himself about, hits kicks pushes. Screams, it is quite an extreme now. Dd can't even get him to leave the house.
Her son is 5. It's causing alot of upset fir both of them.

So we are thinking a disability buggy may help. But we can't afford to buy one. So we were wondering. If anyone knows of a place we may be able to buy a second hand one or a charity any place that comes to mind really.

Incase it makes a difference he gets heigh rate care and low rate mobility DLA

Try Facebook for second-hand ones. I got my 4 year old DS on for £80 and only been used twice. There are quite a few 'buy and sell' groups that will have what you see looking for.

You could do with a McClaren buggy with 5 point harness. Keep looking on eBay etc and chat with your local mobility aids centre or send early years centre eg mencap as they should know current charities offering help and may have an OT to help you apply. Good luck.

Family Fund offer items like this.
You could also ask your GP for a referral to wheelchair services, might be a long wait though.

Family Fund?

Or, wheelchair services via your local disabled children's social work team or an Occupational Therapist (the route to wheelchair services seems to be different in different areas)

Suggest to your DD that she finds the local parent carer support group on FB and asks there too. People often list bargain or even free equipment on ours.
