Electric Scooters !

My daughter bought my 4 year old grandson an electric scooter that lights up for Christmas. Its for him to play on at home and in the park. It cost her £130 and she bought it online.
On Christmas Day we went to the park and it stopped working. We think he may have gone through a puddle when we were not looking.
She wrote to the seller who sent a new battery.
It is still not working.
Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation? We are thinking it may be the circuit board that has got water damaged and because it cost so much money are keen to get it fixed.
Looking for a way forward and any suggestions will be gratefully accepted

If paid for with credit card then the person who bought the item has section 75 protection.

Only if the item is faulty and it's not clear that is the case here.

We are not sure if the item is faulty. We just want it to be fixed !

If the item is not faulty you may well have a problem. Do the instructions (are there any instructions?) say it's OK for use outside?

Most kids electric scooters and hoverboards say do not use them in the wet. You can get ones that can be used in the wet but they are a lot more money 300+.

Thanks for the suggestions. It turns out that the scooter is faulty and they are sending a replacement.
