I purchased something in the Boxing Day sales. It has been further reduced by another £50.
I'm considering repurchasing at the lower price and sending the same item I already purchased back to the retailer so I can make use of the extra £50 I would save. The issue is that I will need to pay for the return. The item is worth £400 so I would need to ensure it's tracked and covered for up to that value in case it went missing.
Can anyone tell me what the best (and cheapest ideally) method to ship the item back would be?
I've checked Royal Mail online and it looks like Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm for £10.65 is the only 'set' option with insurance covered up to £500. I don't really care when it gets there so don't mind saving on something like a lower priced signed for 24hr service but the insurance coverage with that one is only up to £100. Is there an additional insurance top up I can buy that would for cover a higher value and a lower shipping cost than the £10.65 of the 1pm delivery I mentioned?
Or is there another postal service all together that I can use that would include coverage up to £400
