The moment you realised you were parenting a toddler?

What was the moment you realised you were the parent of a toddler, instead of a little baby?

Last night I found myself digging impacted mashed potato from the gaps between the floorboards in DD’s bedroom. I thought, yep, I’ve arrived. She is 13 mo.

When she first picked up a remote control and bellowed 'HELLO' into it like Dom Joly. I love toddlers!

I turned my back to get her lunch ready after strapping her in her high chair.
I turned back round and she was stood on the tray!
She was probably about 9 months. The tray cracked and had to be removed before her first birthday. Wee Houdini 🫣🤣.

She's 13 now thankfully. But I'm a lot greyer!

Ah that’s terrifying! 9 months is so early for getting up to dickens

When DS followed me up a ladder when I was painting the upstairs windows.

My DD was 2 days past 9m old when she took off walking, it was an overnight jump from baby to toddler. She's 17 now and just wants lifts all over, I'm desperate for her to drive, lol

When I was doing bedtime and realised how long his legs were, I thought where is my tiny baby 🥲

DinosApple · 03/01/2023 09:45

@BeastOfBODMAS Haha, yes she was a whirlwind, a climber and an early walker. There's just under a year and a half between my two DDs, they ran rings around me!

It was the funniest, happiest, but most exhausting time of my life!

Started having to chase the little one to get a jumper on (few days after started walking at 16m).
