Does anyone use sleep headphones?

I’m sleeping really badly due to neighbour noise and being unable to switch off my mind. Facebook has twigged this and keeps showing me sleep masks with built in headphones, they sound good but I’m not sure if they’d help - I do listen to music to help me sleep already. Has anyone tried them?

I have the Bose Sleepbuds, they play ambient noise and totally mask my DH's snores.
There are several different tracks, plane engine, frost, rustling leaves, breaking waves my particular favourite is canvas rain, which is a heavy rainfall on a tent, incredibly relaxing.

They are pricey at over £200, but to me they are priceless and worth every penny. Cheaper than a divorce, and least stressful than doing time for murder😉

I've used these for years and wouldn't be parted from them.

I've tried everything under the sun but I keep going back to my AirPods. I had high hopes for that headband thing but it made me claustrophobic.

I do this too!

Highly recommend In our time (bbc sounds) sends me to sleep, it's so boring!

I have a music headband, it is Bluetooth speakers over my ears but soft and comfy to sleep in. No eye mask so no claustrophobic sensation that a PP mentioned. I play audiobooks or podcasts from my phone to fall asleep to. Not sure how much it cost as I was a gift but certainly not £200 - under £50, possibly under £30

MyMachineAndMe · 03/01/2023 07:35

I have a sleeping mask with built in headphones, yes. I have these: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B09D9CJGYB?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title and find them comfortable if I don't have them too tight. I listen to thunderstorms on YouTube overnight to drown out dh's snoring and clicking noises.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/01/2023 07:36

DH has a sleep headphone head band thing by Hanpure. It's really annoying as it leaks sounds massively, however low the volume is.

AboutTheYoungIdea · 03/01/2023 09:12

Thanks, I’m not sure if I’d hate something over my eyes or if it would actually help by blocking out light - I dont know if that contributes to keeping me awake or not.

I have a Snoozeband Deluxe and love it - I never used to enjoy wearing an eye mask to sleep but I've realised I sleep much better with the light blocked out and it didn't take long to get used to having my eyes covered.

I listen to audiobooks to sleep. It used to take me well over an hour to sleep on an average night, often a lot more. Now I very rarely need to set my audible timer to more than 45 minutes, but I'm generally out much quicker than that and have to rewind for the next night.

I've checked it for sound leakage and it's absolutely fine on low volumes. I find that having it on the lowest volume is ideal especially when I sleep on my side, right over the speaker - it doesn't really drown out external sounds per se because it isn't noise cancelling, but it gives me something to focus on instead, letting my brain switch off. Without it I wake up with every little creak in the house or noise from DP.

InvincibleInvisibility · 03/01/2023 10:07

I use a soft headband from amazon - £12.

Cannot sleep without it now. It bluetooths to my phone and depending on my mood I listen to sleep music, sleep hypnosis, or podcasts.

VERY different effect to just listening to my phone on speaker.

So good Im buying one for my 11 year old who has adhd and needs white noise on the ipad to sleep

This made me LOL @gogohmm

IOT can be fascinating. It can also be duller than paint drying...

I use cheap sleep headphones from Amazon, like these www.amazon.co.uk/Headphones-Bluetooth-Headband-SAMERIVER-Ultra-Thin-Grey/dp/B09WNG4FY4/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=sleep+headphones&qid=1672740768&sr=8-4

They're brilliant, I can recommend them.

I have the effortless kind, which charge by resting on the charger, no need to unplug the headphones in order to charge each day.

The headband is too warm for me when I sleep. I place a speaker between my ear and the pillow. Am asleep in seconds. If I ever don't fall asleep right away, I snuggle down and enjoy listening mostly to R4 comedy and drama and am out like a light in seconds.

Had to have a pair couriered to me when I left them behind on a business trip last year.

The one about the sewage system in London was really interesting!

ThePenIsBlue · 03/01/2023 10:29

I’ve had those sleep headbands and although great, the battery after a few months stopped lasting as long. My mum bought me the Bose sleepbuds for Christmas and WOW. They block out all
noise and are so comfortable to wear. Massive fan

Cyclistmumgrandma · 03/01/2023 10:30

I use this,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B085L1XG7V/ref=ppxyoodtbbsearchasinn_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon and cheap. Connects to phone by Bluetooth and works well when DH is snoring. Comfortable as well.

AmandaHoldensLips · 03/01/2023 10:40

Bose sleep buds. Game changers.

twilightcafe · 03/01/2023 10:46

I swear by these sleep earphones from Amazon. I put the radio or a random Spotify playlist on a 30-minute timer, and I'm usually asleep by then.

I tried the headband type ones, but felt as if I was blindfolded. Any wireless ones are a no-no because the bluetooth light disturbs DH.

MaryGubbins · 03/01/2023 10:48

Bose sleep buds. Husband snores like a piglet. I’ve slept better this year than I have in years.

I use the same ones. Really tiny little earbuds.

They are really soft, so I can keep them in my ears all night if required.

I also have one, (in fact, I have two as I sometimes misplace one) of these headbands as I have been insomniac for years.
I love mine, I listen to Agatha Christie audiobooks on YouTube.
I know the plots of all of them so I don't need to actively listen iyswim and Hugh Fraser's voice is so, so soothing.
Occasionally I listen to soothing music but I often find it annoying.☺️

FinallyHere · 03/01/2023 17:25

Another fan of High Fraser's voice
