Help. What to wear for my new job

Hi, I'm starting work this week as a secondary school TA. It's just occurred to me I don't know what to wear. I'm used to working in reception in primary so generally wear leggings with a long top as I usually end up covered in glue and paint! Do I need to be smarter in secondary. Thanks.

Depends on your schools dress code.

Leggings aren’t allowed in the secondary school I work in. Needs to be formal trousers or dress/skirt and tights.

I would start smarter and tone down if appropriate.
So either smart trousers, skirt or dress (not too short) with tights, blouse/shirt/top (no obvious logos or slogans) and or jumper or cardigan. Check staff handbook for requirements for a jacket. Footwear that you could wear if required to be on your feet all day.
Consider layers class room temperatures vary massively.

Do you have inset days first? They will be casual and you can ask colleagues for guidance.

No inset day and no staff handbook yet. I'll just wear trousers and a jacket and then tone it down I guess if I'm too smart. Thanks
