What’s your favourite meal?

Whats your kids favourite meal?

Has to be things cooked at home instead of takeaways.

Hoping to get some inspiration of things to cook, especially for my 3 extremely fussy kids 🙄🤣

Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, loads of gravy.

Hellocatshome · 02/01/2023 20:40

Lasagne and chips is my favourite (I know its double carbs but you said favourite not healthiest)

DS1s favourite is Chicken enchiladas

DS2s favourite is beef dinner with Yorkshire puds and roast potatoes etc

DHs favourite is any sort of curry.

Wittyend · 02/01/2023 21:11

We had a roast beef dinner today and by miracle my two year old ate a few broccoli florets but refused the rest of the meal 🙄🤣

It’s always double carbs here too with lasagne only with garlic bread instead of chips 🤤

@WanderWomanWW jacket with cheese and beans is my 7 year olds favourite, I prefer mine with tuna.

Do you all end up cooking different things to cater for yourself and the kids or is it 1 meal and like it or lump it?

The kids love it too, but their favourite is my home made veg soup.

My current favourite is aubergine dahl with roasted cauliflower. DS1 likes beefburgers. Ds2 likes wraps - the rest of us have them as Fajitas with various fillings but he just likes sour cream and sweetcorn in his.

Sometimes I do us each a meal, depending on how well (or not) they've been eating the previous few days. They both go through phases of not wanting to eat great, so on those days I do just relent and cook them their favourites, as at least then they'll be full.

Jackets are easy and relatively fast in my air fryer (combi thing, has 14 functions!).

He will gladly eat her tomato soup so that's one meal they both love. Usually do enough for leftovers the next day for her, and he'll have a jacket potato the second day as he doesn't like the soup enough to have it two days in a row.
She doesn't like potatoes in any form except mash on vegan cottage pie, and we only have that once a month as she's the only one who likes it, and not even a love enough to bother making it more often.

I like jacket potatoes with houmous, vegan cheese and baked beans.

They both like:
Noodles with tofu
Pasta (macaroni or tomato)
Spaghetti with vegan 'meatballs'
Avocado toast/wraps
Falafel wraps
Pizza (shop bought, shove in oven).

He loves Sunday roast (vegan version).

I often do fresh smoothies to ensure they are getting what they need.

neighboursmustliveon · 03/01/2023 07:52

I love pizza and so do the kids.

Our current easy favourite family meal is pie (frozen ones as we have two vegetarians and two meat eaters), roast potatoes (aunty Bessie is the favourite) and veg.

Lasagna also goes down well - although it's easier to do a vegetarian one for all, this option doesn't go down well with meat eating teenager 😂

Whatmarbles · 03/01/2023 08:39

Chicken and mushroom risotto.
Chicken and chorizo pasta.
Macaroni baked pie (Deliah recipe)
Pasta with bacon and courgette (Jamie Oliver recipe)
