May I ask for your visit suggestions ...

I came out of my marriage a year ago this month after 8 years. With 2 young children. This past year has been spent trying to chaotically keep wading on with co-parenting and adjusting to my new life.

This year I want to grasp back some of me. I have time without the children when they're with their dad and I want to fill it doing things that make me smile. I have been miserable too long.

My New Years resolutions are to get out and move more and visit new places and revisit places I have been but love.

So I'm asking for your places to visit, do etc.

I'm in the south midlands if that makes a difference but I have no issues driving.

Thanks in advance :)

I should add I do suffer with SAD so absolutely despise January. So I need things to look forward to...

What about getting tickets for a music festival or treating yourself to see a band you have always liked?

Book an overnight B&B and drive to Aberystwyth or somewhere coastal for some beach therapy.

Explore local stately homes and country walks.

Visit art galleries and museums. Buy yourself something really lovely to wear. Be kind to yourself and look forward to the spring.

If you're into history, you could plan some trips to significant locations through English history?
My (now) DH and I did this when we were early days of dating, started at battle of Hastings battleground, Hampton court, Arundel castle, yorvik and the minster, Warwick castle etc.

My favourite places we’ve visited lately are Matlock and Bakewell. So beautiful 😍 Lovely little shops, nice pubs, great walks.

Stratford on Avon is worth a visit even with small children.
