Electric diffusers - I can’t really smell mine

I bought one from Habitat. Works ok as in I can see the line of mist coming out and vaguely smell the oil (White Company Winter).

All as instructed, I put in 100ml of water and 4 drops (the maximum it said) of oil to the water. But it isn’t filling my room in a delightful way.

What would happen if I add more oil? (This seems to be the sensible solution)

Are you using warm water? That workd best. Also pure essential oils.

@GoodVibesHere Yes, warm water and I did wonder if the White Company oil was OK to use, but it seems to work in their diffusers (which seem identical)

Oils not pils 🙄

AlexandraJJ · 02/01/2023 16:28

I put 20 drops in mine 😀

Alexaplaysomething · 02/01/2023 16:30

I put a about 15-20 drops in mine. I basically shake the bottle until it feels about right.

2023ideas · 02/01/2023 16:36

Ah, good. I assumed I just needed more pill but it says don’t exceed 4. I’ll try with more.

Thanks all. I don’t want to buy a more expensive one. Just didn’t want to burn the house down!

OK, while i have you all, any recommendations for oils to try? Cheap but expensive smelling preferred 😂

I use more like 15 drops. But also find that candle oil burners with about 10 drops give a much better scent that fills the room.

Always use pure oils. I also shake it so lots comes out

Apothecary at M&S are divine! £4 for a bottle.

VerifiedBot2351 · 02/01/2023 17:26

I use a lot more oil than that in mine. I use essential pure oils and mix my own.

I love the smell of the Muji oils, but can't stretch to their diffuser. Are all the diffusers the same? I keep seeing them in TKMaxx.

bellac11 · 02/01/2023 17:37

You dont need to spend a lot of money on a diffuser, you can just use a little oil burner if they're too expensive
