42isthemeaning · 02/01/2023 00:49

I hear you, op

asblindasabat · 02/01/2023 00:56

Feel like this too OP. Now that Christmas is over, I just want to hibernate until summer!

Forgetaboutme · 02/01/2023 00:58

Yup! Don't get why people are so excited for a New Year. I just feel gloomy like what's the point. More of the same, but now without Christmas to look forward to.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 02/01/2023 01:03

I feel so depressed

Doing too much inward brooding about things and relationships with family etc

I feel the same....

pizzaHeart · 02/01/2023 01:22

I felt the same because war, cost of living crisis and NHS crisis overflowed to the next year.
We’ve done Xmas ok but the start of New Year always got me thinking about the last year.

userxx · 02/01/2023 01:33

I like New Year, fresh starts and spring around the corner. It's the only thing that gets me through Christmas.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 02/01/2023 01:37

Good for you!

Good for you!

Oh sorry, is this a thread where you just want everyone to be as miserable as you.

Be a bit more positive. You might actually enjoy it.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 02/01/2023 02:12

I literally asked if anyone else felt the same way. I didn't ask if anyone loved the new year or if anyone found that positivity made everything better.
Genuinely, good for you if you find it lovely but don't be snotty if you don't get the response you think you should.

I just think roll on March.

orangegato · 02/01/2023 08:37

Let’s just hope it’s better than 2022, which was a shitstorm. Stay strong!

LlynTegid · 02/01/2023 09:19

I don't. The reason is that intentionally I always have a holiday and other things planned for January and February to look forward to and plan for.

Recognising I am more fortunate than most to be able to do so.

NotLovingWFH · 02/01/2023 09:55

Yes me, am always miserable in January and start to perk up towards the end of february. Going to make a real effort this year to do more in January though and resist the urge to hibernate.
