Singing lessons

Has anyone had them? I've just joined a choir but I am not a good singer! Everyone else has a lot more experience. Would it be worth my while having a few private lessons so that I can get better before they chuck me out?😬

Yes, it would definitely be worth it! I improved so much after having some singing lessons.

I have sung in chours and it helped so much. You could ask around your choir - in my old choir we had a number of members who all saw the same singing teacher. And she charged us all a reduced rate! We got lucky with her.

Thanks! I'm going to look for a teacher.

Definitely. They will teach you to breathe properly, which makes so much difference to the sound you produce.

i know this is an old topic but I honestly recommend singing lessons.

I randomly started them about 10 years ago and immediately loved it - especially the various vocal control techniques and then getting to sing songs which I could only dream of managing before.

I then recently put my daughter into lessons. She absolutely detested the idea at first and really didn’t want to go. She has started to tolerate them (although this sounds like I’m a pushy parent!) and even sang at a recent family get together. I have a personal goal to see her singing a solo in the school choir and I think it will happen!

go for it if you haven’t already!
