Can anyone give any tips or advice on proceeding with a claim please. Essentially builder hasn't completed work properly or as quoted and is refusing to put right or refund us. I would say it's fairly clear cut that they haven't done what was agreed in writing, but they won't budge. Amount is less than £5k, but significant to us.

I'm not sure but I gather that there is a nominal fee.

Money Claims court fee
A court fee is payable to the court to issue proceedings, based on the value of your money claim. (Fee Remission - do I have to pay a court fee?)

Eek... the table didn't post right.
On the list it gives an amount you're claiming for first then the fee underneath, if that makes sense.
So , up to £300 will cost £35 and so on.

It's a very stressful situation, especially when budget is tight.
I helped a neighbour apply. Fill the form, attach as much as you can but most importantly try to speak with Court Clark. They are a mine of info and can guide you. Ask for advice before submitting.
Remember, Company may have multiple claims against them.
Also, search and check TrustPilot for reviews. Not saying TP reviews will count (you'll recognise the duds, easily) but it will give you an idea or general opinion of this company.
Stay strong and stick to facts. Best wishes to you.

Thanks all. Did your neighbour win spotdog?

Appreciate there is a fee, but we feel we have a clear cut case so considering it. Enforcing a judgement is another matter of course.
