Has anyone experienced their child saying that at times their vision goes funny and things appear smaller?

my son keeps getting this, mainly in the evening. It freaked him out. He says things look small.

anyone had this or child had this?

Have you checked to make sure these things aren't just far away?

😂😂 yes I have. It did make me think of that Father Ted sketch. “Little…..far away”.

I'm 55, and I had this issue when I was a child. It was like looking through the wrong end of a telescope. It came with audio distortions too, as if everything was being piped through a long tube. This was in the early - mid 70s. It was weird. As I got older the frequency of these episodes lessened. The last time was probably 35 years ago. But I still recall them very clearly.

The episodes tended to happen when I was stressed or otherwise sick. Sleep deprivation may have been a contributing factor.

I had this when I was a child! Never heard of Alice in Wonderland syndrome before, and never told anyone about it as I didn’t know how to describe it really and I thought I was the only person it happened to. With me it was that everything around me got really big, still happens very occasionally.

I suffered with migraines too as a child. Very interesting to be able to put a name to it after all these years.

It can also be indicative of epilepsy, it’s a common seizure type.

Could be due to tiredness also

My sister had this when she was a child. She used to say our heads looked really small. It did pass.
