What do you do with unwanted coat hangers?

I've tried charity shops, but they didn't want them, and it feels v wasteful to just bin them.

What do you do with them?

Advertise them on FB marketplace for free. Someone will want them!

boboshmobo · 31/12/2022 11:36

Put them in the recycling bin

RewildingAmbridge · 31/12/2022 11:36

I never have enough! If someone put them on FB near me I'd have them in a heartbeat

DuplicateUserName · 31/12/2022 11:37

Offer them on Facebook.

Loads of charities want them or local churches/schools for their jumble sales.

Even car booters would probably want them.

One man’s trash is another’s treasure. I chucked all my child sized hangers. But I am a dressmaker and realised I didn’t have enough for my business. Had to ask my one friend who still had a primary school aged child for her spares.

Put an ad on Facebook marketplace.

Recycle them

Nancywhiskey · 31/12/2022 11:42

Our tescos takes them

Bluevelvetsofa · 31/12/2022 11:57

Sainsbury’s takes them too.

Sugarfree23 · 31/12/2022 11:58

Bin, I asked on FB and nobody wanted them. And a guy said he worked sorting recycling and they get plucked out and binned.

Put them in the recycling bin

Most councils don't want them in their recycling bins. They're the wrong sort of plastic to start with and many have metal bits attached.

ThePoshUns · 31/12/2022 12:07

Take them back to the shop
They came from? I always ask for them to keep them now

PatChauncey · 31/12/2022 13:56

Thanks everyone - I'll try Facebook marketplace first.

I got rid of 50 wooden ones in 5 mins by listing on FB marketplace for free.
