What's the name of this painting?

It's a painting of a woman floating, being pleasured by three people (possibly angels) and looking like she's having a lovely time. I think the title is something to do with sin or a fallen woman or something. I think it did the rounds on twitter a while ago.

I was telling someone about it, but now can't find it on Google.

Help me.

That cursed woman appears to be living out my lesbian fantasies Hmm

ReindeerSkull · 31/12/2022 11:59

Cross posts!

Being the cursed woman looks great to me 😂

Bloody hell, I've seen some Know It Alls on here before, but a couple of these posts take the biscuit!

Bizarre!

Anyway OP, I'm glad some posters didn't presume to know your own thoughts and eyes better than you do, and found the actual painting 😂

This is one of the most bizarre threads I’ve ever seen.

OP: Can anyone find the painting I’ve seen before.
Poster1: Is it this one?
OP: No
Poster2: Yes it is
OP: No it’s not
Poster3: You’re wrong!

How can anyone here say the OP is mistaken about which painting she saw? If she says that isn’t the painting she is referring to why would any posters here think they know better than the OP’s own eyes!?

Absolutely!

I know

Totally bizarre. I thought I must have missed something with posters so sure the OP is wrong about her own thoughts Grin

Yes!

Thank you. You can always trust Mumsnet to come through.

And be deeply odd at the same time 😂

No you are wrong

I'm joking! I think😀 no offence op but my head hurts trying to work out why you were 'wrong'

AmongstTheCosmos · 31/12/2022 12:03

Vintage Mumsnet here. Weird argumentative thread but also actually very helpful and informative! Xmas Grin

@Letitrainletitrainletitrain The OP is mistaken that the picture someone posted isn't the one she is thinking of? How do you get to that logic!

No, the picture that was posted has the title that we said. The OP said it wasn't that title.

iklboo · 31/12/2022 12:07

How obtuse do you have to be to tell the OP that the picture she's thinking of is the one you posted, despite her categorically saying it isn't? Either that or a crap psychic.

No - she said that wasn’t the picture she was thinking if.

And the rather pompous "I think you'll find@

Anyway. If that's sin, that's the way I would like to go

This is such a weird doubling down.

My Mum doubles down like this and it's infuriating. She is usually having an entirely different argument to everybody else in the room.

Blimey! Someone curse me now!

Hilarious thread though.

Fifiesta · 31/12/2022 12:16

This thread is hilarious ! Glad that other posters came through with the correct info.
Can anyone solve this art mystery for me?
In the seventies there was a popular modern print adorning walls, of a naked man in profile standing on a tiled floor, possibly with the sea lapping over the tiles.
At the top of the picture was the outline of a swan fading out into the lower picture.
I think it was possibly a modern interpretation of a Roman or Greek myth.
It was perceived as being very cool at the time, (for teenagers at least.)
I’d be interested to see it now my tastes have changed and find out how I feel about it now!
The seventies were a very different country…

Neilsfavouritechilli · 31/12/2022 12:18

Ah ha I remember that one, the bloke was sort of sat on his foot and young me thought it was a poo.

Neilsfavouritechilli · 31/12/2022 12:19

Wings of Love for the 70's print? I am right, you are wrong.

Letitrainletitrainletitrain · 31/12/2022 12:20

Wings of love? it was pretty popular in the 70s
