(Any legal folk about) Mum and Dad's Will- will this be a problem in the future?

Hi, my parents just got their will drawn up and showed it to me. I have kept my maiden name and taken on my husband's surname. All my documents minus my passport say for example Elizabeth Cohen-Brown. My passport says Elizabeth Brown and when I renew it I will change it.
On my parents will it mentions me as Elizabeth Brown NOT Elizabeth Cohen-Brown....do I need to do a codicil or do you think it will be ok? My mum's lawyer thinks it is fine...

*Mum asked for my passport and I wish I asked her what for, I would have given her another document if I knew she was making her will.

Thanks in advance

Does if not say 'to my daughter Elizabeth...."

beeswa · 31/12/2022 08:39

That's fine . No need for it to be changed

Good on your parents for drawing up a will. I've just had a chat with my SIL who thinks it is morbid and brings on bad luck (although asking for my advice- my advice was - draw up a will Hmm ).

Have a lovely 2023!

Probate lawyer here - it's absolutely fine.

Another private client lawyer here - it's fine. All that matters is that you're identifiable.
