amiold · 30/12/2022 21:15

This made me laugh sorry.

Where was it? 🍆 🫣?

Why are you livid

amiold · 30/12/2022 21:15

Sorry thought it was DH. Accept my apologises xxx

CookPigDale · 30/12/2022 21:16

It's done now - she's 18 it's her body but honestly !

weve had a serious talk about sterile conditions and pier pressire etc

She's 18!! What makes you think you get to be fuming about this??

CookPigDale · 30/12/2022 21:17

Peer pressure!

I'm so disappointed.

Seriously though, would upu be happy about your daughter having a piercing done at a party - let's face it, not salon would do it in circumstances where alcohol was involved

Oohahhalittlebitmore · 30/12/2022 21:25

Tbf I did a few piercings on myself under 18, and a couple on others, no alcohol involved in any of them.
At 18 it really is her own choice.

Are you more annoyed by how it looks or that she was drunk?

CookPigDale · 30/12/2022 21:27

The alcohol aspect

I get it.. I am assuming you are fuming (I'm a poet !) because of the conditions she did it in and the inherent risk of infection.. very poor judgment... rather than her choice to get a piecing ? That's perfectly reasonable... the choice to have a piercing is of course hers..

(Says I who had my ears pierced between 2 fishfingers in 1978... teens are not the smartest....)

LoveAHolidayOrTwo · 30/12/2022 21:29

Dissapointed?
Why?
She is a young adult expressing herself.

Unicorn717 · 30/12/2022 21:29

She's an adult. Would have been better to go and get it done somewhere proper but I know plenty of people who have done similar.

iamthesparrow · 30/12/2022 21:40

We did this all the time at house parties in the late 90s 😂

I had several house party ear piercings, and a nose piercing. I miss those days.

Don't worry op, it's not a huge deal. I'm now a fully functional adult with a mortgage and husband and boring sensible job. She's 18, they do this stuff at that age.

MysweetAudrina · 30/12/2022 21:42

I pierced above my eye. Got infected. Teens are thick.

EBearhug · 30/12/2022 21:51

Safety pin in the back of geog class... it's pretty normal.

user58202018484482910ugog19293843910 · 30/12/2022 23:30

It happens.

I would come home with tattoos and piercings.

Kids were worse at school with a compass and a broken pen.

AdobeWanKenobi · 31/12/2022 00:03

I think I’d still rather a needle piercing at a party than a gun at Claire’s.

AriettyHomily · 31/12/2022 00:27

Meh. I did two cartilage ones with an ice block and a needle when I was 16.

I pierced my own ears at 14 with a pin, and pierced my friends ears too. I really wouldn't care about this. Piercings are low risk and easily reversed.
