There's a few things I'd like to achieve such as

• start my new job in Feb
• save money for rainy days / holidays
• loose 3 stone ( work in progress for years unfortunately)
• go on a few mini breaks with DH
• new floor in living room
• get design ideas for extension (won't be able to afford this until 2024 but keeping the dream alive )
• make healthy foods
•try and do an hour of housework each night
• walk more
• meet friends more often

That's some of the silly things I have in my head for next year. Have you any ideas/ plans/ wish lists

Simply to travel more. I feel like my life has been on hold for the past 2 years due to long covid. Prior to that we put all our money into our house. Ill health makes you reconsider whats important. I need some more adventures before I'm too old

Work2live · 30/12/2022 21:18

Hoping to plan a couple of short breaks, maybe one in the UK and one European city break.

We’re planning a ‘big’ holiday in 2024 but I need something to look forward to next year, as so far we have absolutely no plans for 2023 at all, not even any events/gigs etc!

Duckswaddle · 30/12/2022 22:05

Lose 2 stone
Travel
Remodel the kitchen
Have more fun!

YoSofi · 30/12/2022 22:06

Sort my shit out. Financially, mentally, physically…all of it.

BHRK · 30/12/2022 22:08

travel more and look after my health

notprincehamlet · 30/12/2022 22:12

New country, new job

echt · 30/12/2022 22:23

Travel more, before any ill-health cuts in to stop me.

Sidking · 30/12/2022 22:39

Focus and up my income dramatically.

I'm self employed and have ADHD (undiagnosed but agreed by GP, there's not diagnosis pathway in my county and can't afford a private assessment so I'm kind of in limbo), if I just do the fucking work I could bring in over 2.5k a month working 30 hours a week (net), I've known this for ages, but I just can't seem to make myself go down to work!!

At the end of October my gran gave me 5k of my inheritance (I didn't know I was getting any!), and it's opened my eyes to how life could be, we had a good Christmas, I fixed my car, I done the food shopping without a budget! Its been lovely.

But it's all gone now, which is fine we have a roadworthy car again and Christmas was absolutely worth it, but I want to have enough income not to worry all the time. Having that for a couple of months seems to have given me a kick up the arse as I've been focused this week, so I'm starting the new year as I mean to go on, with lots of stock after a good week of work

SortinMyMH · 30/12/2022 22:40

Lose 1 or 2 st
Be more positive.
Go to bed at a reasonable hour!

Sidking · 30/12/2022 22:41

" but I want to have enough income not to worry all the time"

I mean I want to have that income all the time, I don't actually worry all the time, more the occasional bout of anxiety 🤣

downnew · 30/12/2022 22:53

Lose some weight- no target as such just want to be healthier. Eat less, move more!

Get some work done in the house- for example we've been here 13 years and have never decorated our bedroom!

SingingSands · 31/12/2022 00:49

Quite a few are the same as your list, OP!

Definitely need to replace our living room floor!

The big one for me is to run a marathon. I've signed up. I've got a training plan. I've got running buddies. I just need to get going!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 31/12/2022 00:54

Save for a house. I'm 41 and sick of renting. Lose weight.

PennyPearl · 31/12/2022 00:57

Lose 6st (wish me luck)
Get my garden done
Finish my degree
Start another degree or a masters haven't decided yet but instead of doing work I'm here on MNGrin
Travel the uk a bit more
Try and learn a new skill - thinking cooking properly as it'll help with weight loss

JamSandle · 31/12/2022 00:59

Return to the gym
Lose 2 stone
Save more money
Eat healthier
Declutter my wardrobe
Start learning to drive

To have a lens implant. Already had one eye done. Now would like to get rid of the other contact lens.

MardyMincepie · 31/12/2022 01:56

Do some strength training
Stay in my home town with various friends and relatives for a month if possible.
Look for a third voluntary job.

Odd question, but do you need glasses at all after?

Would so love to be rid of reading glasses

PotatoScone1 · 31/12/2022 02:02

I want to go teetotal for a little while.

alcohol is a bad habit for me now. I want to see what life is like without it for a little while. But my (already meagre) social life is all founded around it so I have absolutely no idea how to go about it.

Depends what strength you have. I chose to have the lens implant for distance vision. When I have my second one done I won’t have it corrected to perfection but for close work. I’ve always had this arrangement with my contact lenses as it gives me the best of both worlds.

ChocolateCandle · 31/12/2022 09:57

Definitely need a better sleep pattern.
Lose 2 stone.
No/low spend year.
Use up or declutter my craft stuff.

mac1974 · 31/12/2022 11:41

Stop buying stuff I don't need
Finally shift this stone i need to lose
Figure out my next career move....think it will be time for a change in 18 months
Get properly on top of finances. They aren't dire but I'm always borrowing from savings and paying it back

therealmccoy1234 · 31/12/2022 12:28

Walk every day
