Scout uniform sizes

Trying to order scout uniform. Everything I'm reading says the sizes are way out but doesn't tell me anything useful about the size I actually need. If you have a daughter that would wear size 6-8 what size scout uniform do they wear please?

My DD has the smallest size... shes about a 2-4 in adult sizes. Its baggy on her!

For a 6-8 i would get the 10 to allow a bit of growing room.

If you can get to a local Scout shop it’s good to try on (with growing room so you don’t have to transfer badges between uniforms too often!) - alternatively could she try on someone else’s from her Group to get an idea on size and fit?

If she is starting Scouts at 10.5, then she will be wearing it for 3.5 years at a time of her life she is likely to grow.
You don't want to have to fork out for a new shirt, and definitely don't want to then have to transfer all her badges and sit, re-sewing them on to the new uniform.
So buy with growing room is definitely the right thing.
But I would ask to try on - if you don't have an outlet near you, then ask her fellow Scouts, or friends locally with Scout shirts.

She's starting late so not got that long to wear it sadly. Was looking for second hand but it never seems to come up

Have you asked the scout leader? Our group sells second hand uniform on the normal evenings.
