Old electricals

I'm having a bit of a clear out and just wondered what other people do with old electrical items.

We have a couple of old cd players/ stereos that were good quality / expensive in their day but are old tech and we never use them (but they work perfectly). We also have a huge box of wires and cables for god knows what.

Our nearest charity shop doesn't take electrical items, taking them to the tip seems a waste and I haven't got the energy to deal with time wasters on Facebook / free cycle.

I have found Freecycle easy and straightforward, but I imagine it varies by area.
Personally I would put them on Freecycle and then take to the tip if no takers within a few days.

We have one of those recycle bins near us. Like for clothes but take these items. Would that work?

@thinkfast Sell them on eBay! Have a search of the make & model first to see how much other people are selling them for, then take photos & list them!
