Any opticians around?

Just had an eye test and been given a prescription, however when looking at glasses online the numbers don’t seem to make sense.

Is it normal to have a sphere of 0 but still have glasses? I’m confused as I thought glasses were for short or long sightedness but my sphere figure is 0.

This is what I was given, and was told glasses would help for reading and close work.

Really you need to speak to your optometrist who did your test or the dispensing optician who will do your glasses. But it says on your prescription that your near vision is +0.75 so reading glasses will definitely make everything sharper and clearer.
