Help covid holiday!

Workquiet · 30/12/2022 12:00

We all have covid which means we have to miss our holiday. It is what it is but we need to provide positive PCR’s and can’t seem to see where we can get from? A lot of them say they are for fit to fly and not for if you have covid.

any advice please?

The .gov site seems to say you can buy them from "shops and pharmacies, including online"

SoupDragon · 30/12/2022 12:02

Maybe phone your local pharmacy?

The government says a lot of things that aren’t that easy in practice…

You pay for a fit to fly test and then that tells you that you arent fit to fly as you have covid

It's the only way you'll get a PCR test

sorry for trying to help. Good luck

But lots of them seem to say ‘don’t use this service if you have symptoms’. It’s most confusing!

Plus most of them use Royal Mail that doesn’t work!!!

Who wants the PCRs ?

Workquiet · 30/12/2022 13:17

So. Chemists say to use online services. Online services are saying can’t guarantee results in time or are shut due to postal strikes. I am really not sure what to do not to lose all our holiday money as insurance company insisting on a PCR

Is it worth contacting a couple more of these companies who do the PCRs and see if they'll deliver with DPD/evri? Maybe ring them?

We had to have them last year for travel, and they were next day delivery - certainly not through RM.

gogohmm · 30/12/2022 14:56

Express test does non travel ones

Workquiet · 30/12/2022 14:57

We’re working through with the insurance company what to do - will let you know outcome in case anyone else affected!
