Washing for kids

If your kids (approx age 6), bath or shower at night, do they wash in the morning? What so they do? I expect dd and ds to wash hands and face with a flannel in the morning when they brush teeth but it causes ww3. Wondering what I'm missing!

A 2nd bathroom?

MerryChristmasTree · 30/12/2022 10:28

No mine don’t and I couldn’t get them to if I tried.

@NotaClue541

hands will be washed after using the loo so that is them sorted.

teeth - yes definitely maybe try taking them to choose a character toothbrush and incorporate it into an appropriate part of morning routine (e.g. up toilet, hands, teeth?)

face washing at that age I would just have a warm flannel ready for after breakfast and a quick swipe as they leave the table?

not sure that a second bathroom for kids that age is needed although undoubtedly extra facilities are always useful.

Teeth are sorted- it's just the flannel that they hate 🙄

In that case if the flannel is the main issue then I’d really just do a token wipe - check there’s no obvious sleep in eyes, porridge round mouth etc,
But I’d do it rather than get them to!

It's never occurred to me to get them to wash their faces if they washed the night before.

JJJSchmidt · 30/12/2022 10:44

My dc happily y wipes their faces on towels to remove toothpaste and breakfast crumbs, and 90% of the time this sufficed

Newuser82 · 30/12/2022 10:44

I just wipe their faces after breakfast if needed.

MerryChristmasTree · 30/12/2022 10:45

Mine wipe their faces after breakfast if needed.

Thesearmsofmine · 30/12/2022 10:45

I have some really soft face wipes from Primark that my dc much prefer over a flannel. Might be worth a try!

FlounderingFruitcake · 30/12/2022 10:46

I’d wipe face after breakfast only if needed. Hands are done after the loo anyway.
