I want to drag the Dcs away from their screens today as am still off work. But they are bored [cue wailing voice] with everything i suggest - steam railway - cinema- bowling - etc . Plus it is raining and one of them has a condition called cold urticaria which means he has an allergic reaction when it rains or is cold. (so we say he melts in the rain!!) so although I can rug him up it is really miserable for him.

I;d love some ideas. TIA! (Mind you, we do have to write thank you cards today, but even I would like to do something more fun than this!!)

The thing I love about the Christmas holidays so much is there is absolutely no need to go anywhere if you don't want to. Plenty of food in, new toys and horrible weather makes it the perfect time to relax at home. Would they come away from the screens to play board games etc as a family? Or if you don't want to stay at home do you have any local theatres doing panto? Indoor trampoline park?

Ooh i will check out trampolines and theatre... thanks!

They are 12 and 10- I forgot to say.

I have cabin fever a bit. They are probably fine for another day at home - and tbf we are away next week so sightseeing will be on the agenda.

The panto is on at 2 pm. I've never been to one either so that might be fun.

That sounds like it could be a winner if DC are up for it. I love a panto!
10 & 12 definitely tricky ages to get them hyped up for leaving their rooms 🤣 Mine are 10 & 15 and can never agree on what to do, all my ideas are "boring" as well. Ah, kids.

Trampoline park, Total Wipeout assault course places, cinema, sports event (we went to an ice hockey match recently which was brilliant, but there are also matches for things like basketball and volleyball and ticket prices are usually quite reasonable), out for food (Tesco Clubcard vouchers are great for family pizza outings), make a fort in the lounge, trip to museum (not a boring one), bowling, local gymnastics clubs sometimes have holiday clubs where your kid gets to spend a day or half day flinging themselves around on a sprung floor with other kids.

Aquarium, arcades, indoor crazy golf, pottery painting, go somewhere nice for lunch, cinema.

That's all I've got 😂

WorriedMillie · 30/12/2022 07:38

DD loves indoor crazy golf!
