Experience gift ideas for 7 year old

DS will be 7 in February. He's just had presents for Christmas and there's not much he wants or needs for his birthday. He's interested in the idea of an experience type gift but I'm struggling a bit with ideas.

We've already seen the Lion King and we have tickets booked for another show already. We do plenty of days out, so trying to think of something a bit more special and that we wouldn't usually do. He likes animals, reading, shows, stories, cake!

Budget is flexible, we live in North England but willing to travel (e.g. to London) and make it part of a weekend break. All ideas welcome!

Chester Zoo feeding experience? Depending on height and fear could do Go Ape or similar? Lowther Castle is a full day out with a massive playground but you may have already been

Ha, was just coming on to say I took my 8 year old to The Lion King last night. Will also follow with interest.

I saw Matilda with my older girl in London pre-Covid, and that was such a treat. I hadn’t expected to enjoy it, was doing it more as a ‘kids’ activity’, but wow, it was a very special night for me too. We went to a restaurant beforehand and had steak, which is also a lovely memory (apologies if you’re veg / vegan, but you know what I mean, just a special dinner out!).

Not sure where in the North you are, but Go Ape, Forbidden Corner, Stockeld Park have all been great for my kids/grandkids at a similar age.
And Yorkshire Wildlife Park is excellent.
