Results after blood donation

I donated blood on Monday after I saw an ad on Facebook that they need new blood donors. All good until my friend told me that they will not notify you in case the blood is infected.
I checked the website and they say in case of anything they will contact you as soon as possible.
The thing is my partner cheated on me in the past and Im getting paranoid that he did it again and maybe infected me with something. Last time when I tested everything was good but my anxiety is killing me.

Do you know how quickly after the blood donation they will contact you in case of something wrong and will it be by phone or letter?

Last time I gave blood they took an extra sample as I had been to corfu and got bit by mozzies. They said they'd let me know if they found anything. However it says clearly when you give blood not to use it as a way of testing and you should really have a test. I get a text saying where my blood has gone though

Regularly give blood, but I’ve not been contacted because they’ve found something worrying.

They do normally text to say where the blood was used (which hospital it went to) I really like this part of the process.

If you’re worried you’ve got something, and in particular something that is in blood, you probably should go to your doctor anyway….Are you worried about HIV/AIDS? They do test for that, and it can be sexually transmitted.

If you are concerned then see your GP for a proper test.

Probably best not to give blood if you think your partner has infected you with something. other than that they would ring you if they have two positive results from your samples which would probably be 2 to 3 weeks

It depends what you are worried about, blood will be screened for hiv/syphilis and probably hepatitis but there are many things like chlamydia ect that won't be picked up on a blood test. Please go and get a full sti check done.
