I keep seeing the ad for The Peoples Postcode Lottery . Have you won or do you know anyone that has ?

We've won £10 quite a few times but never the big one. Yet.

LooneyToon · 29/12/2022 20:17

Done it for years, win 10 maybe 3 times a year or so. A road nearby me won quite a bit couple of years ago

Whatthetrolley · 29/12/2022 20:18

I started playing in 2019 after my friends sister won £30k. I've won about £60 or so plus a Nadia cook book. Still holding out for the big one!!

SchnauzerEyebrows · 29/12/2022 22:18

Been playing a month and have won £10 so far. A street a mile away won £30k recently Sad

I played for about a year and never win anything so I stopped playing and put my money in NS&i instead and won loads more times.
NS&i is different in alot of ways though....
I had a decent amount to put in which will heavily influence the likelihood of winning.

I bet you regularly check your postcode though don't you?!

Kaylisa · 29/12/2022 22:51

I don’t play but my friend won a decent amount this month and in total was about 700 winners from our local area with minimum being £14800 (1 ticket) and the winning road got £379000 each for 1 ticket (12 houses)

JamMakingWannaBe · 29/12/2022 22:56

I won £1,000 about a year ago and a couple of tenners. I'm going to cancel in the New Year.

Hellocatshome · 29/12/2022 23:02

I've won £10 quite a few times, £100 once. Someone DH worked with won £32,000.

IhateJan22 · 29/12/2022 23:09

An area local to me won twice in the space of about a year.

restisall · 29/12/2022 23:37

Won £10 about 5 times I think? never any more than that

For post code lottery? No I didn't and don't.
I don't think you're referring to NS&i, but for that the more people that invest in your area, the more likelihood of you winning.
They have more winners in the south for example because people have more money and greater savings to put away.

buttercup877 · 29/12/2022 23:50

I’ve won £10 twice in the last 18 months

emmathedilemma · 29/12/2022 23:54

Look up “the island that won the lottery” on channel 4, a lovely programme about a group of winners.

FantaTv · 30/12/2022 01:30

My friend cancelled and the next draw her street won big. Gutted. I do one ticket a month at a tenner just in case.

stillvicarinatutu · 30/12/2022 01:45

I won 1k and regularly win a tenner.

Sleepwhatsthazzz · 30/12/2022 01:54

I won 30k!

catsareme14 · 30/12/2022 07:06

Thanks all , so am I right in thinking the prize money depends on how many people in your postcode are playing ? I live in a rural area of some deprivation.

I don’t think the money depends on how many are doing it but I think the chances of winning are higher the more people in your postcode area are doing it.

luckylavender · 30/12/2022 09:27

£10 a few times & I know a few people who have won c. 10k.

MarmiteCoriander · 30/12/2022 09:32

A neighbour won a small amount (less than £100) we think on the people postcode lottery that you have to pay to join.

I do a free postcode lottery called Pick my postcode. A friend won about £50 on it, but I've been on it a year and won nothing. Its free though- so not the end of the world.

reelcat · 30/12/2022 10:41

A few tenners and a nice notebook!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 30/12/2022 10:43

My old street won just after I moved. Old neighbours got about £30k each.

No, postcodes are pulled for different amounts of money. The more people in your postcode who play the higher the chance of winning. There was about 10 of us won 30k on our street. What I didn't realise is you can play more than once as a house. My neighbours both wife and husband played so they got 60k

Sleepwhatsthatzzz
