My darling dad was rushed in to hospital last night with suspected stroke / heart attack. The CT head has shown no signs of stroke but possibly a brain tumour. I don’t know what to do. I’m in bits. He’s my absolute rock

i am so sorry you and your dad are going through this, sending a handhold and prayers.
Does your dad live local to you? Will you be able to go to the hospital?

Thank you. He called me last night as he was unable to talk / was confused etc - all symptoms really of a stroke. He started to come round once he was at the hospital and had his scan - we’ve been here since 7pm last night. It was such a shock when the doc said “so we have found an area of concern and it is possibly a tumour”. I can’t stop crying as I love him so much. My DC adore him. My heart will be shattered if I lose him.

Thank you for the kind messages. It’s been confirmed now that it is likely cancerous, dad is having scans today to see if it’s spread and what kind of cancer it is. I’m just utterly devastated as we were not expecting this at all. Dad had no symptoms prior to this “TIA” last night. I just don’t understand how this can happen. The dr who broke the news to us in A&E last night sat us down at 6am and said “so we found a mass on your head and it’s likely to be a tumour. If you could go and wait in the corridor I will get back to you”. Dad (who can’t walk because of this episode) was sat in a wheelchair next to me in a busy corridor whilst we tried to process this. She never got back to us and when I chased at 9am, they said she had finished her shift. Honestly, it’s been appalling. The new consultant has been great so far and telling us about what to expect test-wise but just so upset.
