Sore throat and loss of voice, for over 2 weeks

Anyone else suffering with this. Throat was very very sore to start and I could barely talk. I had one day of feeling absolutely rotten, and a few days of feeling not great. I've had a course of antibiotics. I do have a cough, and seem to have developed a tight chest/breathlessness the last couple if days

It's just not shifting though, throat still very sore, voice still terrible, cough still painful.

Negative for covid x 3.

Sympathies to you. I’m also suffering in a similar way. This wretched cough is stopping me sleeping. I guess we will improve eventually.

I'm being kept awake more by the really dry throat at the moment. I've had long running g colds before but it's the croaky voice that is bothering me, it's gone on for so long. Hope you feel better soon.

What were the anti biotics for? A throat infection? If you are still suffering it would suggest it has not cleared up and you may need more?

I too have a horrible cough, throat and loss of voice. I think it’s just the nasty virus going around though so nothing I can do. Sleep is dreadful as I can’t breathe through nose and mouth/throat is so painful. Plus soon as I lie down my chest gets all gunky and I have to cough

Did you swab your throat and cheeks plus nostril for COVID?

Hopefully it's not strep throat either. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, I have this too and it’s been over three weeks and am now on my second course of antibiotics… will it ever go? It’s relentlessly consistent, never experienced anything like it before, it’s grim and I am so sleep deprived.

Antibiotics were prescribed over the phone, ds1 had strep A with scarlet fever a few weeks ago, but his responded to ABs within 24 hours

Sounds like yours is most likely viral then. Lots of people suffering for weeks.
