Is it possible to catch more than one cold simultaneously?

On 24th December, I sat next to a young lad in a waiting area who told me he had a very high temperature and had been hallucinating, He was coughing and sneezing a lot while I was there. Then on the same day, the lady that did my nails told me she was wearing a mask as was getting over flu, On Christmas day my DS GF sat next to me coughing and sneezing all evening. This morning, I have woken up with a sore throat a cough and high temperature. This isnt a blame thread, people mix at this time of year and it is inevitable we catch things from each other.

My question is, could I have caught 3 different bugs at the same time?

According to This BBC article, yes it’s absolutely possible!

Sorry you’re feeling so miserable, I hope you get over your bug(s!) soon!

Thanks @ConfusedmumUC

My DS, DW said she thought she didnt get COVID when my DS had it despite living with him, sharing a bed etc because she already had a cold and the cold virus killed the COVID virus before it could take hold. It sort of made sense or maybe I was being hopeful.

When DS was in hospital with RSV he had a viral swab and it found he had three viruses at the same time, all types that caused cold-like symptoms. Hope you feel better very soon

thank you @LaBaDeeLaBaDa (love your user name by the way, i can hear it as a song). Your poor DS having 3 at the same time. Actually thinking about it now, when people in hospital had COVID they often went in with something else and then caught it as well so I guess it makes sense.

As long as it stays as a head cold and I manage to shift it before I am dog sitting for my DS on 3rd January that will be OK, he is taking his DW away for her birthday and I always love spending time with their whippets, but not sure if I will feel up to bouncing around with them if I feel like this, although they also love sleeping, normally on me so I can deal with that. I was terrified of dogs for most of my life until he got these 2, and now I lovel spending time with them, to be honest apart from becoming diabetic and having a diagnosis of fatty liver and high cholesterol, I haven't had any colds or illnesses for months, I was the last one of the family and my friends to get COVID and it was very mild compared to how they had it, so I should count myself lucky. Also had 4 Covid vaccines and the flu vaccine so nasty bugs are covered I think :)
