Please tell me about the fanciest budget hotels you have stayed in...I've been inspired by another thread so im going to treat myself in the new year x

Travelodge and premier inns

IBIS style hotels are nice, 3 star but interesting decor, well considered details and very good service in my experience.

Last year I stayed in the Manor travelodge in Haringey (London). Although just a basic budget hotel it's new, gleamingly clean and I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a large family room overlooking Finsbury Park. It's about twenty steps from a tube station. I was very impressed with it.

Can't go wrong with a Premier Inn
Novotel not too bad either

I follow @cheapholidayexp on Instagram and she has some absolute bargains that she posts about - loads of really lovely places which are worth a look.

Where abouts? What matters to you facilities wise?

@gogohmm anywhere in the uk. I suppose I'm looking to have occasional breaks in the uk but on a budget x

Laughing at Travel Lodges being deemed anything close to fancy 😂. I mean there's nothing majorly wrong with them but they aren't fancy. I'd stick to independent places like b&bs for something a bit nicer.

@Needthisjob carry on laughing then. If you have nothing positive to contribute, just don't bother?

Just saying Travel Lodges aren't fancy. They aren't! No need to be so touchy.
