I'm all peopled out!

I'm late 40s and have always enjoyed my own company, I'm introverted and live alone.

I've been with different groups of family and friends for the last few days and I can't take any more socialising and mingling now... the constant chat and engagement just drains me, and I think I'm getting worse! I need lots of down time now.

Anyone else feeling the same?

I think since lockdown a lot of people feel this way, particularly if you leaned this way pre-covid. People can be hard work even if they don't mean to be!

I completely get it. Nothing wrong with your own company sometimes!

Me too! Family left today. One DS at work, other at pub watching football with DH. Home alone. I love them all but this is bliss!

I'm really jealous. I'm an extrovert really but our families live far away so we don't see them at Christmas and one DC and my DH have been sick over Christmas so we couldn't even have playdates over or some local friends. Couldn't even go out for walks much. I have total cabin fever and feel like Christmas has just been really crappy. My DH being ill and crashed out a lot has just made me feel really lonely.

Anyway you're obviously not at all wrong in how you feel either. I just think it's funny that what one person is grappling with is often the very thing that another person is really missing.

Yup.

I’m sick of everyone except DS. He’s like me, we can watch a movie in silence.

DP has a friend round so he is ‘occupied’. He has a habit of wanting to chat to me and I just can’t right now.

Yes! We had family staying all Christmas and I feel so depleted. So much work getting everything ready, hosting and then tidying up. I’m knackered and fed up of considering everyone else’s requirements. Got friends coming for new years so I need to get some gumption back but I can’t bloody wait for this all to be over and not see anyone for the whole of January!

I spent half of yesterday in bed after having three very intense family days. Another today and I had to go lie down by myself for half an hour when we got home. Planning a day hiding"tidying" my office tomorrow so no one comes near me (and I binge on detectorists).

I wish they would leave me in peace
