I don't have a chamois but I have normal Microfibre cleaning cloths... is there a safety/maintenence benefit to drying the car (in which case I will do it) or it is just about looks (in which case I cba) please?

If you've been out driving when they've gritted the roads you would need to wash the salt off otherwise the metalwork will rust more quickly.

Thanks, I have washed and rinsed it, just feels rather pointless to dry it considering its raining later.
