Anyone fancy a challenge?! 😅 Looking for something in a similar style to these examples! I feel like I’ve exhausted everywhere I can think of.

  • Ideally white/neutral colours (not grey please!) but open to other colours.
  • Happy to buy a set or all separately but there MUST be matching pasta bowls available 🤣
  • Would like the bowls to be straight sided too - lots of sets I’ve seen have rounded bowls and straight edged plates.
Issues with the 2 examples - the Next set doesn’t have matching pasta bowls available. The West Elm ones are no longer available in white in some items, only grey which is the one colour I don’t want. They also want £15 for standard delivery which feels a bit ridiculous 🤣

Maxim, from Marks and Spencer?

RoyFuckingKent · 28/12/2022 12:52

James Martin Everyday from Denby any use?

Why are pasta bowls so important?

Can't you just put pasta in the cereal bowls?

Curious, not judging.

Do most people have pasta bowls?

Mix and match is the way to go! Dinner sets are so old fashioned.

AudTheDeepMinded · 28/12/2022 13:23

I would recommend any from Denby, they are virtually indestructable!

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 28/12/2022 13:25

Charity shops are a good source.

Kpo58 · 28/12/2022 13:26

What about IKEA? They do pasta bowls

Sugarfree23 · 28/12/2022 13:26

I'd recommend denby too regular stuff is £££ so maybe look second hand.

I use the Everyday stuff for every day, and have done for 12 years. In that time I've only broken a couple of bowls which are easy to replace although recently I think they have changed the shape slightly.

Pasta in pasta bowls is so much better than cereal bowls!

We got ours from a seconds shop after we married twelve years ago. I have yet to break any, I swear that stuff bounces! I think two plates have miniscule chips to the glaze on the rim and that's about it!

AudTheDeepMinded · 28/12/2022 13:32

OP Denby has a 50% sale of some ranges at the moment (I'm getting quite excited for you!)

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/12/2022 13:36

If you live in the NW Cheshire Oaks have a Denby shop with some great deals. I am sure other discount villages do too!

cattreats · 28/12/2022 13:37

We've just replaced our plates. I went for the Pro-cook Stockholm set in Ivory and I love them.

A few plates arrived broken but they were replaced very quickly when I phoned in.

RoyFuckingKent · 28/12/2022 13:40

The everyday pasta bowls in the Denby range I posted above are my go to for pretty much everything, especially stews etc.
TK Maxx have a lot of white Denby in as well so I’ve been able to add to the collection with everything from cake stands to gravy boats.

Trying81 · 28/12/2022 13:46

Which next ones do you mean?

We have the Malvern set which is nice

WinniePig · 28/12/2022 13:50

Sophie Conran Port Meirion - comes in white and has matching pasta bowls. Not sure about square edges though? Was a bit confused by that comment.

PaintByLetters · 28/12/2022 13:51

We have Denby "white squares" which fits your brief perfectly I think. I live with exceptionally clumsy humans so we do break one a year probably - we live within an hour of the Denby Village factory shop though so buy them all through there to top up.

LakeFlyPie · 28/12/2022 13:58

If you have Tesco clubcard points you can triple them on Denby website

Anotherbloomingchristmas · 28/12/2022 13:59

Definitely think about stacking in a dishwasher or on a rack.
Some of the Denby deep rims are a bit awkward imo.

This is a fair worry! Our dishwasher has an adjustable top rack, so with this raised to its highest the dinner plates fit - but with a different dishwasher I think the arm would catch on them and not be able to spin.

Thank you for all your replies 🤣

I was meant to upload pictures then git caught up at work and this is me just checking my phone 🙈

Dishwasher stacking isn’t a worry - had one in our old house that I never switched on once in the 6 years we were there 🤣 dont have one in this house! I’ll have a look Denby! I like the sound of bouncing plates 🤣

@ouch321 🤣 I eat pretty much everything out of pasta bowls 🤣 probably the most used item in my cupboard! Highly recommend them if you don’t have them lol

@PacificallyRequested I actually agree with you for the most part!! I have a beautiful selection of mix & match but I like to have a neutral everyday set to run through it too and my current one has had a few run ins with my toddler and isn’t looking it’s best (and half is gone 😅)
