Menopause and memory

I'm late 50's and think I'm post menopause , I still have occasional night sweats but nowhere near as bad as they have been.
My problem is my memory, I can't recall words , they just completely elude me and I get embarrassed, especially at work when I'm half way through a sentence and just stop because I can't think of the word I need.
I was talking to my daughter today and couldn't think of the word 'stereo' and for some reason I got really upset, my daughter said it didn't matter and not to worry but I am worried, it makes me feel stupid .
Is there any way to make this better, is it worth bothering my GP ?

Not everyone wants to take HRT, so I just laugh and say ‘ sorry, menopause brain’. The more you stress about it, the more you can’t recall the word.

Testosterone helps.

I had this with chemo for breast cancer so obviously can't do hrt but mine got much better doing research which used brain a lot. Now its pretty much back to before - I'm in menopause now. Whether will work longer term I don't know. And also for the part of my memory that got erased looking over the diary of what happened helped fill gaps.
