Want to buy one but not sure which

This thread is slightly old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best air fryer guide with lots of great options, as loved by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We have a ninja dual (I believe it's the AF400 model) and I wouldn't be without it. Enough room to cook a decent meal and I rarely use my oven now.

Have also heard good things about the Tower branded ones but I haven't used one so don't have any personal experience.

Lavendersquare · 27/12/2022 17:42

We have a Ninja XL and it's fab. I'd highly recommend as it's definitely big enough to cook chips for a family of 4. I think the only thing that would be better is the 2 drawer Ninja but they're almost impossible to get hold of.

Depends on your budget and size but this one does a good job for one or two people.

We also have a Ninja dual air fryer. I love it - especially how you can sync both draws to finish at the same time.

it’s easy to clean and we barely use our oven now.

Ninja 2 drawer, I've got the smaller one and it's perfect for 2 people.

CompletelyDoneIn · 27/12/2022 17:58

I have the ninja duel and would recommend it to everyone

pigsducksandchickens · 27/12/2022 18:54

Ninja dual herd too, we had a Tower and in 4 years we've had to replace 3 bits and finally got rid when the handle snapped off.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 27/12/2022 18:58

We have the ninja af451 and it's amazing. Had a new kitchen in October and only used the new oven 4 times! And one of those was Christmas dinner.

lucea87 · 27/12/2022 19:02

I have the ninja dual. It was expensive but my god I love it. We moved into a new house 12 days ago and I've used the oven twice, possibly 3 times, once was to cook the Turkey. It's so efficient and food definitely tastes better!!!

vinetbrie · 27/12/2022 19:03

Also got Ninja Dual AF400. Helluvajob to get hold of but eventually managed. It's wonderful and as pp mentioned you can synchronise meals automatically using both drawers.

I’d second this - it’s the model we have. Ours has ‘drawers’ though, not ‘draws’ 😜

givethistokevin · 27/12/2022 19:05

I have the ninja 451 - tbh I'm not a gig fan like most. I used it to do the pigs in blankets on Christmas Day which saved oven space and DS heats up breaded chicken every day but aside from that it doesn't see much use. Not worth the price tag for us.

That's the af300. Am sure the 400 has knobs on it.... so to speak!

Sunflower07 · 27/12/2022 19:08

I have a Tower one (I think the 5 in 1). I've only had it since September so can't comment on how long it'll last, but I rarely use the oven now and use it most days. There's only me and 9 year old DS though, so might need a bigger one like a Ninja if there's a lot to cook for

You're right. I do have the af400 but tried to find a pic online and posted the wrong one.
Sorry.
Knobs rule! 😉

userxx · 27/12/2022 19:31

@vinetbrie 🤣🤣 I definitely want one with knobs next time!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/12/2022 19:33

I love mine its a Tuoke 1800 watt

bellinisurge · 27/12/2022 19:37

Ninja dual. Sceptical at first. It's awesome. DH is a brilliant cook but sometimes neither of us can be more arsed than going for the freezer. It's great for that. The cookbook that came with it also has some cool recipes too- sausage sweet potato hash; chicken fajitas. Bit more home cooked than a freezer tea.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 27/12/2022 20:01

I have the larger one that Asda sell, which was cheap and works really well. Just one drawer though so can only do one thing at a time.

FestivePinkFairy · 27/12/2022 20:09

Ninja Foodi 11 in 1, but it's big! Have a hardly used the oven since we got it. It pressure cooks, bakes, steams, airfrys, dehydrates, slow cooks and makes yogurt (not used that function yet though). Made mash potatoes in 10 minutes tonight.

Bigslippers · 27/12/2022 20:16

Ive got a large Ninja 650opi I think its called.
It air fries/baked/dehydrates/pressure cooks
I love it but havent used the pressure cooker or dehydrater
I wish Id bought the dual but only for the square shape as fits much neater on a cupboard

CrabbyCat · 27/12/2022 20:27

I have the Ninja Foodi max AG551. It has one tray not two as the dual drawer ones do, but that means you have a much bigger surface area. It's been perfect for what I use it for, which is for cooking small quantities, cooking things I went crisper outsides on than my oven can manage (e.g. chips, things you'd otherwise deep fry) and reheating food (things like pasta that the microwave takes forever to do large portions of). I'm cooking for 5 so wasn't looking for one to do a full meal in, I'm happy to use my oven for that. Depending on what you want though it might not be much good as a model for you!

What do you think you'll use your for, it's hard to recommend without knowing?

skeemee · 09/01/2023 17:36

Hi there, we are thinking about buying the 9.5l dual Ninja (which is out of stock). I've now seen the Foodi 11in1 Ninja, which is on special offer. We are looking to buy a new pressure cooker anyway, and wondered if you can make soup etc in the Foodi? Also see that it says it is also a slow cooker, which is mind boggling! Might be good for pulled pork and stews?

I really just wanted the dual air fryer to be able to cook M&S frozen fish in one side and chips in the other! But now I'm wondering if the 11in1 would suit us better? Could we cook fish n chips for 5 in the Foodi? With the added bonus of being a pressure cooker and slow cooker as well?

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 09/01/2023 17:40

I've got the Ninja Foodi (the one nobody can get hold of with knobs) and it is absolutely the best thing I have ever bought lately.
You can fit a whole chicken in one drawer and the roasties in the other. Heavenly !
