What’s everyone doing with dc over Xmas holidays?

I have no idea. DH has just insisted on carrying through a threatened screen ban for the children and he's also decided he has to work from home. He works in DC's room so they won't be able to play with half their new toys.

He works in DC's room so they won't be able to play with half their new toys.

And he can’t work in the kitchen or his bedroom because…?

Building their piles of Lego. Walking the dog (we're near beach and woods). Meeting friends. Meeting family. Boardgames, films, grazing for food, siestas. Out on the bike. Park to practise baseball.

Nothing expensive, we're broke.

Meeting family, building/playing with new toys, going to the park, New Year's day freezing walk along the seafront, DH and DS will go bowling one day (they have a free voucher)

Crunchymum · 27/12/2022 08:37

I'm working tomorrow, Thursday and Friday (from home) so DP is having kids. No grand plans. Bookshop to spend a voucher one morning, need to return library books before 31st so that can be done one day. Probably visit granny and grandd at some point. Family party on my side on Friday so we'll go to that. Otherwise it's just walks, toys, films and relaxing.

moleeye · 27/12/2022 08:43

Mine are 3 and 8.

Screens, playing with their toys, building all the Lego, eating crap. I'm hoping I can drag them out the house for a walk (they've resisted so far), board games, arts and crafts, seeing friends and family.

I will mostly be working my way through all the food and drink 😂

I have no intention of spending any money whilst we are off

Theneverendingdrama · 27/12/2022 08:47

I'm working tomorrow but off other than that.

Family either away/in hospital/have covid so its strange not seeing them. I feel bad for DC who are used to seeing family a lot over christmas.

We'll go to the shops today to break up the day, we're ice skating on Thursday and seeing friends on saturday.

Want to go for a walk but the weather is awful.

ChristmasTidyings · 27/12/2022 09:47

@AkoraEdelherb no room door a desk in the bedroom and kitchen/living area is open plan, even worse in there! Just come back from the shops and they're playing (nicely) around his feet. He does not look amused 🤣
main has come out so a walk after lunch, unless the neighbourhood kids are around and then they can go out and play.

ChristmasTidyings · 27/12/2022 10:31

Oh FFS, you couldn't make it up. Just come out on a coffee break and he's furious with me for "letting the DC play in DS's room whilst I was out".... Why didn't he tell them to go and do something else then?!

Helpmesortit · 27/12/2022 10:34

@ChristmasTidyings why not your bedroom? Surely the DC’s bedroom makes the LEAST sense!!that’s horrible!!

Purpleskies46 · 27/12/2022 16:06

We’re watching films and playing with toys
