She seems fine. She’s tiny. I’ve scared myself daft googling. Can I go to bed or will I never forgive myself?

Go to bed but set your alarm for three hours to check her?

Thingiemajig · 27/12/2022 02:12

Or do 2 hourly checks if it feels safer

I’ve set a 2 hour alarm. I don’t know what kidney failure would look like even having read up on it. Lethargy and hyperactivity seem to be the major things - right now she’s a 20 hour a day sleeper with 4 hours of zoomies at random hours of the day or night.

wake her when the alarm goes and see if she’s acting normally.

Maybe play with her a little

Vets!!!

I'd be straight to the vet, raisins and sultanas are really bad for cats and dogs. A friends cats got into a bag of sultanas and they ended up very close to dying

If she just ate the pastry then the worst I’d expect to see is upset tummy eg. Diarrhoea for a day or so.

The tricky this is with her being teeny tiny even a small amount of the filling could cause dangerous kidney damage and ultimately be fatal. The lowest known toxic quantity for raisins is 0.11 oz/kg.

So if you wish to be safer I’d take her to an out of hours emergency vet, they can make her puke, get a blood sample for baseline kidney values that can then be monitored for 2-3 days and have her on a drip for 2-3 days. If she didn’t eat any of the filling then of course that’s an overreaction but if you don’t know what/how much she ate then it would prudent to be cautious.

I hope she does well
