Finished antibiotics but still unwell?!

But are still just really under the weather? WWYD?

DS4 had a terrible cough (still does), prescribed antibiotics by the doctor. DS2 had tonsillitis, again given antibiotics. Both just finished their courses but I don't think they are actually better? Not got a temperature any both, but both just absolutely wiped. Look v pale, not really eating, not enough energy to go to the park.

We have all been ill for weeks and weeks. I've literally lost track. I've had 3 rounds of antibiotics too. Should I be worried? Do we need to go back to the doctor?

I've never known all of us be this ill for so long.

The antibiotics just kill off any bacterial infection - they don't magically make you feel better. The body still needs time to heal and that can take weeks to build strength back up.
Antibiotics won't do anything about viral infections - a lot of coughs just now are caused by viruses and can take weeks to clear.
Does your daughters tonsils still look inflamed? My son had tonsillitis and was wiped out for about 6 weeks after.
If temperature is normal then that's reassuring - just try and keep eating and drinking small amounts frequently.
There's a lot of horrible bugs going about just now.
I would give it a week to see if I started to feel better before i went back to the GP, but obviously only you know how you feel.
Hope you all feel better soon.

Thanks @MrsFinkelstein . It's so hard to tell what is a new bug and what is just the last batch. I had thought it was viral for all of us but we still had temperatures 6 /7 days in.

Struggling to look at his tonsils tbh. Will have another stab! It's just been one thing after another.

There are different antibiotics

Tell your GP these haven't really worked and they should prescribe you a course if different ones or more of the same if they think more time is required
