Coffee machine help - total newbie!

Hi all, hope you all had a great day yesterday and got what you wanted. I've been gifted an AromaFresh coffee machine which is great, but the issue is I've never had one before and I really don't know what I'm doing! I have spent the entire morning setting it up and trying to get to grips with it but I do still have a few silly questions 🤔I am just going to list them if anyone would be so kind as to help me out! TIA!

  1. I am using beans. How many tablespoons of beans per person? Is it one or two?

  2. I cleaned out the machine as instructed then put in the filter but of course the machine was wet so then the filter was wet. Should I have dried it first?

  3. The setting on my machine is currently for 2 cups worth. I poured in the right amount of water, however when it was ready I poured myself a cup almost to the top as you would with your instant, but I found there was hardly any coffee left!! Does this mean you are supposed to have a much less amount than with instant coffee? Hope this makes sense..

Think that's it for now...

I'll assume it's a grind/brew machine. Beans in, coffee out. Generally 1 x spoon of ground coffee per person. Filter can be wet or dry. It gets wet one the water arrives on the coffee. It might mean 2 x cups, not mugs. Cup sizes vary. Have a look on YT. Bound to be someone on there. James Hoffman talks about coffee but you can discount much of it as he talks about all kinds of machines, coffee. Good water e.g. soft and/Or filtered is essential.

I love my filter machine it's been a huge part of my adult life! I've had a few and now have a kitchen aid.

I find that 6 cups of water makes 2 large mugs and for that is would use 4 'scoops' of ground coffee so assume the same of beans. The scoop o think is a dessert spoon. Their scoop came with a previous coffee maker. I use the paper filters.

Ah see that sounds more correct, I’m confused as the amount of water it states for 2 cups worth is really more like one mugs worth! I’m also the only one who drinks coffee in my house so would it be fine for me to fill it to 4 cups worth according to the water tank guidance? And then 2 tablespoon scoops of beans for one mug, does that sound correct?

Oops, error in my previous post. I meant to say should I just use the ‘2 cups worth’ guidance as to mean 1 big mug? Sorry to be so confusing!

exactly this even down to using the 15ml ish size scoop from a previous machine

It should work in theory but when you do a smaller amount or sort of disappears Confused you'll have to have a play around . I think it would be 4 cups and 2.5 'scoops'

I make 6 cups and then put the rest ins flask for later in the day (usually take it to work) be use I known it's not too strong or too week which are both disappointing!!!
