Any Apple-techy people about? I-PENCIL2

DD got an ipad and ipencil today.

The whole point was her drawings, the ipencil doenst seem to be working.

Even when she connects it to the ipad it isn't popping up 'ipencil' on the screen like it does on every bloody video

I don't own anything apple and am a dinosaur so I can't help her.

Really don't want to have to go to the apple shop :(

Any suggestions please?

Which I pad does she have? Some are compatible with Apple Pencil 1

Did you look at bluetooth in settings, it should say ipencil and you can connect it or have you already done that?

Is the iPad definitely compatible with it?

No I bought it from studio.

She's had a generic amazon pen for ages, with a cheap tablet.

She's 14 and starting to do her art GCSEs so I got the the apple one as that's what she's always wanted :(
