Morning all, and Merry Christmas!
I am sat here, in the front room, in the dark, save for the Christmas lights. I have a cup of cinnamon coffee, and a couple of 'spare' roast potatoes needed to check if they were any good
The prep for the day is done. Apart from the turkey, many things are cooked or cooking.
The children are still asleep!
I have the window open, and can hear the birds.
This year has been tough, and sitting here, peaceful and quiet, I'm almost in tears with gratitude for us all making it to this point.
Later, when things are busy, I'll grab a couple of moments at the back door, breathe in the damp fresh air.
The children have some lovely presents to look forward to today, even if there are fewer than previous years.
The PIL, who I've had a fractious relationship with, have been so lovely. It's taken 18 years and two grandchildren, but I finally feel like part of the family.
I hope that you all can find something today that makes you glad.
