My little boy (almost 3) has climbed into my bed like he’s been doing recently and I paid no notice until I realised he was quite hot. I had the thermometer in my room anyway because we were both poorly last week (tuned out to be norovirus, no fever) and I didn’t take it back downstairs so I grabbed it and he has a temp of 38.5 but his hands are cold. He has no rash, only a slight cough and his feet are not cold (though they are in his socks and under the covers). He has been fine all day.
For some reason this fever is really freaking me out. I got out of bed and gave him some calpol. He seems fine other than the cold hands and is just sleeping. But I don’t know if I should be worried? Are the cold hands something bad?
I have general anxiety disorder and I have recently been under quite a bit of stress (and it’s Christmas) and we have just had a death in the family so my anxiety is high at the moment. Please help.
