Today I went to get my nails done at a lovely family run salon, I went to the waiting room as had arrived, early, there was a lady and her son (about 9) already sitting there, I smiled and said how lovely and cosy it was in there, really warm and decorated, the lady started at her phone and ignored me completely.
I wondered if she just hadnt heard me. She was called for her appointment and her son stayed in the waiting room with me. Later another lady and her daughter arrived, the little girl looked lovely in a pink glittery skirt and penguin jumper, I got chatting with the mum and the daughter. The lad sitting next to me was coughing and sneezing away, he joined in the conversation and told us he had a high temperature and had been hallucinating, he felt really unwell, the other mum looked at me and her daughter said to me "are you worried he may run around and eat all the biscuits when you have your nails done", I explained that he wasnt my son and his mum was having her nails done, I could tell the mum was annoyed this lad was basically so unwell and coughing and splutterring in a very confined space.
I felt sorry for him but was also worried about catching something so close to Christmas and went away from the waiting area, pretending to look at the Christmas gift sets instead.
When it was my turn to get my nails done, his mum was still in there seated at the next table, she leant over and asked my manicurist where hers had gone. She kept marching around and then we noticed her storm out and slam the door. My manicurist asked another member of staff what had happened, and apparently the lady was livid about not having her usual manucurist and had been moaning to the one doing her nails, so in the end the one doing her nails upped and left half way through.
These ladies worked so hard to fit everyone in on Christmas Eve, they are such a friendly bunch I was just a bit surprised how rude and entitled some people are. Feel sorry for her son being out and so unwell too. Now realise she probably did hear my friendly chat to her and she is just a rude person.
